People often say that the earth is like our mother. She gives life to all the living things on the earth and provides us with air, food, water and other essential things we need for living.
Once she was beautifhl and rich, but now she becomes dirtier and dirtier, poorer and poorer. It is due to what we have done to her. Please have a good look at her: polluted rivers and lakes,growing deserts, the destruction of the forests and wild life, and the depletion of the ozone layer…
Can she bear to see her children putting the waste here and there? Can she bear too see her children cutting down the trees and destroying the grassland, to see the acid rain destroyingeverything? Floods, draughts, acid rain…,these are the punishments from nature. Everyone should know that there is only one earth, lfwe go on treating her like this, it won’ t be fit for us to live inany longer. It’ s time for us to love her, take good care of her and cure her. We should save the earth so as to save ourselves. the development of modern agriculture and industry, more andmore waste water is being poured into rivers. It has caused serious pollution. The river is becoming so dirty that no living things can live in it. The river is giving off a terrible smell.
We make an urgent appeal that measures should be taken to cope with the situation. Our government should start building various facilities such as sewage treatment!plant and encouragescientists to work out more and better ways to reduce the pollution of water.
Water is tho source of our lives. It is very important to protect water.

We should save the earth The earth is the mother of mankind, the earth is our common home. We like clear water, blue sky, like watching seagulls flying; we like ice Piao, like to listen toGreenfield roar; we like to fly warbler grass long, like to listen to birds singing; we like to see the sea in the early morning sunrise, like a few nights at least Stars days.
We hope that our earth more beautiful and more beautiful. However, due to irrational development, because the waste of natural resources, global ecological damage, pollution of all kinds moreserious. It is very important to deal with the rubbish in cities. For one thing, rubbish may cause a lot of pollution. It may pollute the air, the water and the places we live in. For another, it maydo harm to people’s health.
So in our city, rubbish is well dealt with. First, it is sorted. Then old newspapers and glass are recycled. The harmful wastes are buried and the waste water is cleaned before it goes intothe river. The government has already made laws against pollution caused by rubbish.
But that’s not enough. We must all try our. best to prevent rubbish from polluting the environment so as to. save our city and our living place.

One day, I went with the group to a nearby river. We wanted to check if it was clean. We did many scientific tests to see if the river was healthy. Surprisingly, it was! We still, though,took any rubbish we could find out of the river.We wanted to make sure fish could live there happily.
Recently, I helped the group plant flowers at our school. We’re hoping the flowers will bloom this spring and make the school look beautiful. How did we pay for all the plants? We madeT-shirts and sold them to our friends! We’re still got some money left from selling the T-shirts. We hope to use it to buy some recycling bins for the school.

There are still many problems of environmental protection in recent years. One of the most serious problems is the serious pollution of air, water and soil. the polluted air does great harmto people’s health. The polluted water causes diseases and death. What is more, vegetation had been greatly reduced with the rapid growth of modern cities.
To protect the environment, governments of many countries have done a lot. Legislative steps have been introduced to control air pollution, to protect the forest and sea resources and to stopany environmental
pollution. Therefore, governments are playing the most important role in the environmental protection today.
In my opinion, to protect environment, the government must take even more concrete measures. First, it should let people fully realize the
importance of environmental protection through education. Second, much more efforts should be made to put the population planning policy into practice, because more people means more peoplemeans more pollution. Finally, those who destroy the environment intentionally should be
severely punished. We should let them know that destroying environment means destroying mankind themselves.
